How far you’ll walk to Saturday’s event
All three are walkable. The longer bars just mean a few more minutes in the sun — easy to drive or grab a quick rideshare instead.
Rodeo & nightlife (Cowtown Coliseum and Billy Bob’s) sit just to the north — closest to Drover and Hyatt, about a 3–7 minute walk, and a little longer from SpringHill. The rodeo is indoors and air-conditioned.

I want the best price
Book SpringHill Suites. It’s the only hotel with our group discount, so your dollar goes furthest. It’s the longest walk, but flat and straight — or a short, cheap rideshare on a hot afternoon.
I want to be closest
Book the Hyatt Place. Right on Exchange Avenue, a 2–3 minute stroll to Saturday’s gathering and steps from the rodeo — all for less than Drover.
I want to treat myself
Book Hotel Drover. Beautiful Western rooms, valet at the door, and acclaimed dining in Mule Alley, right in the heart of the evening fun.
Walking is hard for me
You won’t miss a thing. Distances are short and rideshares are quick and cheap. The Hyatt Place is the easiest on foot, and Drover’s valet drops you right at the door. We’ll help coordinate rides for anyone who needs one.
Beat the heat
Staying comfortable in July
Fort Worth runs mid-90s to around 100°F in July, hottest in the afternoon. A little planning keeps everyone happy.
- Dress light. A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, loose clothing, and comfortable walking shoes go a long way.
- Carry water and sip often — it’s easy to get dehydrated without noticing.
- Time your walks. Save longer strolls for morning or evening; rest in the shade or AC midday.
- Rideshare is your friend. Uber and Lyft are everywhere here, and the short distances make rides quick and inexpensive.
- Duck inside to cool off. The rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum is indoors and air-conditioned — a perfect break.
